IRON CITY PITTSBURGH CLUB OF SOUTH FLORIDA

                    IRON CITY PITTSBURGH CLUB

                     OF SOUTH FLORIDA

                    Club History

During January of 1994 at the end of the 1993 Steelers Season, a group
of die-hard “Burghers” got together and decided to form a club. A few
names were brought up, but the best was the “Iron City Pittsburgh
     Club of South Florida.”

Next came the design for the club logo. The view of the Point and the
Golden Triangle was approved, with the club name and year established.

We filed with the State of Florida the fictitious name on March 9, 1994
and it was published in the Broward Daily Business Review on Monday,
     March 14, 1994.

Our first President was Pamela Cox with Greg Thompson as Vice
President, Nancy Pedruzzi as Secretary and Dianne O’Neil as
Treasurer. Board Members were Chris Meklas and Rich Qualters.

Our first official club meeting took place on the first Friday of April
1994 at the London Pub in Margate. The very next month, the club
sponsored an “It’s a Burgh Thing” picnic on Sunday May 29, 1994 at
Snyder Park in Fort Lauderdale. It was a huge success with pictures
and an article in the Sun Sentinel.

We’ve had numerous bus trips to Steelers, Pirates and Penguins games
that were played here in South Florida.

The club is officially ten years old and has had a variety of Presidents
including Chris Meklas, Sal Petro, Johnny McGuigan, Rich Qualters,
Jim Lavella and our current President, Kandy Sheldone.
